Welcome to the New Year, a time of great anticipation. This year will bring more balance and light to those who have been walking the spiritual path and will offer the opportunity to those who are now awakening to raise their vibration. This past year was one of completion. It was a time of allowing old patterns that did not serve any longer to rise to the surface for examination and release. The more releasing a person has done previously, the smoother their path will be in the coming year.

What is the spiritual path? It is one where an individual recognizes the connection he or she has with the Divine Creator and all other sentient beings in the Universe. It is a recognition that each of us creates our own reality; that what we create as our world is a reflection of the complexities we hold inside, whether we are aware of them or not. It is an understanding that what we think and speak has a profound impact on all with whom we come in contact. What we offer the world, the world returns to us. This is the Law of Attraction, which is one of the major energetic laws of the Universe.

The spiritual path is also about acceptance, as opposed to resistance. Experiencing any negative emotion is tapping in to some sort of resistance we hold inside. It is about judging, comparing, and rejecting either another or even oneself. It is only when we accept who we are and where we are in life, that it is then possible to move along our spiritual path.

How do we accept ourselves for who we truly are? By having faith and trust that God, the Creator, Source, Yahweh, is always with us; always loves us, no matter what we do or say. We can never do wrong in God’s eyes. It is never God who cuts us off, it’s how we cut ourselves off from God by our thoughts, words, and actions.

How do we know we have cut ourselves off? Our emotions are a good indicator of how we are walking our path. Fear, anger and jealousy, to name a few negative emotions, tells us we’re heading in the wrong direction. That is when we know we have moved into resistance. Resistance is fighting against that which is good for us. It is a wake-up call to notify us of what is happening in our life that needs correction in order to feel better. Blaming others, or expecting them to change is not the answer. The change must come from within.  Life is all about our relationship with God, not with other people or situations. They present themselves to us as a reflection of what is going on inside. They help us understand ourselves better.

The question is do we choose to be happy or unhappy in our relationship with God? God is patient, always allowing us to find our way, or not. It is always our choice. If it is important to feel good, we must find ways to become loving, kind, understanding, joyous, happy, compassionate, patient, and forgiving, first of ourselves and then toward others. When we are in balance energetically, our life is not excessive, rather it is enjoyable and makes sense. We are never done working on ourselves, but being generally happy, means we are on the spiritual path. Take a good long look at how your life is going. Make changes if necessary, and always point yourself toward the Creator. This is the year to move forward. Birth a new you for your ultimate good. Namaste.
